Champions for Change Awards

The Network for a Healthy California is looking to recognize Champions.  As you know, Change does not happen without great people leading the effort.  It requires change agents who are dedicated to making a positive difference in their communities.  The Network is establishing Champions for Change awards to recognize individuals and organizations who exemplify empowerment, act as change agents, and who truly lead efforts in their community. 

AWARDS: 

  1. Champions for Change – Leader Award
    Awardee will be an individual
    Criteria:
    • Eligibility for Food Stamp Nutrition Education
    • Setting an example as a great role model
    • Exhibits leadership and influences others
    • Impact and visibility—has contributed to positive change in surrounding school, work, neighborhood, or community
  2. 1.	Champions for Change – Leader Award

  3. Champions for Change – a Community Engagement Award
    Awardee may be individual, program, or organization.
    Criteria:
    • Influencing others
    • Innovating and taking risks
    • Leadership in driving societal shift
    • Impact and visibility
    • Sustainability of efforts

  1. Nonnie Korten Champion for Children Award
    Criteria:
    • Network funded contractor
    • Must have exhibited outstanding work to improve nutrition and physical activity for low-income children and adolescents in California
